Welcome to our Maitland Classic Motor Association Inc. Website
Maitland Classic Motor Association (MCMA) has been a Maitland and Lower Hunter Valley-based club since 1992. Our objects clearly state what our club does. They are: · To establish, maintain and promote MCMA as a group of motoring enthusiasts owning and interested in all types of motor vehicles and motorcycles over 30 years of age. · To encourage and foster safe driving and maintenance techniques for all types of motor vehicles and motorcycles. · To provide and encourage a spirit of fellowship, tolerance, and goodwill among the MCMA members and like-minded associations. · To sponsor and encourage public interest in the restoration, preservation, and use of all types of vehicles over 30 years of age. · To encourage tours, exhibitions, and other events suitable for all types of motor vehicles and motorcycles. · To regularly communicate with the members of the Association and other interested parties. MCMA members have over 500 vehicles. There is quite a variety including historic and classic cars, motorcycles, motorcycle side cars, trucks, buses, and military vehicles. These vehicles originate from Australia, Britain, Europe, America and Asia. There are over 250 members of MCMA. We are a very social club enjoying many club runs and events. Usually, we have 2 runs each week – a Wednesday Run and quite regularly a run at the weekend. Additionally, we have weekend runs and a tour each year. Indeed, in recent years we have toured across the Nullarbor to Perth, visited Alice Springs and Darwin, Great Ocean Road, the Australian Alps, Gippsland and the South Coast of NSW, Cooktown and North Queensland, and Tasmania on three occasions. We meet on the first Tuesday of every month at Telarah Bowling Club, Clarke Street, Telarah, 6.00 pm for dinner and 7:30 pm for the meeting. There is no meeting in January. To join MCMA, a prospective member needs to attend 3 events/runs/meetings and be ‘voted-in’ at a monthly meeting. Membership is $60 in the first year and $50 each subsequent year. Memberships cover a financial year, July 1st to June 30th. Membership is open to people of all ages whether they have a vehicle 30 years old or over, or not. All that is required is an interest in historic vehicles. We hope that aspiring members who join MCMA remain active in club meetings and events. You are most welcome to give me a call and discuss our fabulous club and your motoring interests. Please enjoy our roads and drive with care, courtesy and consideration.
