2022-06 Mudgee Long Weekend Run Gulgong Parade
This years event attracted 36 members in 18 cars. We stayed 3 nights in Mudgee at The Soldiers' Motel and on three evening enjoyed the hospitality of The Soldiers' Club. Both are highly recommended. Travel to Mudgee was via teh Bylong Valley Way and Rylstone, with its outstanding yum cha lunch and the Lue Pub with its open fire, a welcome sight on Friday afternoon. Most of Sauturday was spent at Gulgong with participation in the Henry Lawson Festival parade and celebrations. Sunday saw us of the road again visiting Sofala for morning tea, Hill End for lunch and returning via Hargraves in the afternoon. Members returned on Monday in the finest of weather, mostly on the Golden Highway through Merriwa and Denman. This was another of our fabulous weekends away.- John and Trace's 1968 HK Holden Monaro GTS, Garry and Sue's 1977 LH Holden Torana, and Lindsay and Ann's CM Chrysler Valiant attracting admiring looks from the crowds.
- David and Narelle's Mercedes Benz 190 300E and Bill and Barb's Mercedes Benz Coupe adding European finesse to our car club representation in the parade.
- Lindsay and Ann's 1981 CM Chrysler Valiant and Ian and Anne-Maree's 1974 Rover P6B were strong 'middle rowers' in our contribution to the parade.
- Mick and Robyn's 1996 VS Holden Calais, resplendant with club windscreen sash and banners, proudly leads our club cars in the parade. This is our Vice-Presidential flagship
- Ken and Vicki's 1971 Datsun 1600 was a very popular entrant in our club's contribution to the parade. You could hear the crowd saying, "remember the Dato".
- Ian and Anne-Maree's much travelled 1974 Rover P6B - the Presidental Flagship.
- Garry and Sue's 1977 LH Holden Torana inspires the memories of the crowd - memories of when Australia had a local automotive manufacturing industry supported by consumers, business and government.
- John and Trace's 1968 HK Holden Monaro GTS. These cars were a 'breath of fresh air' when released, followed by competition success by winning the Bathurst 500 in 1968 and 1969.
- Mercedes Benz sports sedans! A flattering photo of two of our member's interesting, comfortable and high performing cars during the parade.
