2022-04 Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival
Recovering from the necessary COVID-19 restrictions, 'nostalgia' was on this year. It is a 'la nina' summer and very wet. Numbers were a little lower, as were the displays and the entertainment. However, it was a good MCMA display with 10 club vehicles on show.- Datsun 1600s were very popular, reliable, well-appointed, and value for money in their day. They are very collectable today and we are priveliged to have two in our club.
- Tony's 1946 Austin 10 was one of the cars to lead the British recovery, 'export or perish', after World War II. Tony shows his excellent example at most local show 'n shines.
- Ian's 1974 Rover P6B is the most travelled car in the club. Since 2014 it has been driven 90 000 kms and visited every capital city in Australia.
- Lilly has recently completed the restoration of her 1974 Holden One Tonner, with the help of her Pop Jim who displayed his Buick at nostalgia. Lilly's Holden is very popular with the viewing public.
- Jim's 1950 Buick shows off its film star appeal. These cars were very popular in the 1950s USA, and as government ministerial cars across Australia.
- Peter loves American muscle cars, and has owned quite a number of them This is his very flash 1966 Ford Mustang Hardtop.
- Mick proudly displayed his 1971 Ford Falcon GT replica. Mick is a 'die hard Ford Man' and this car is testament to his care and dedication.
- Paul with is 1966 Rambler Classic. These cars were under-rated in the 1960s, but not in Paul's eyes. He reckons they are the best!
- Steve with his 1971 XY Ford Falcon Fairmont, This is a very attractive and presentable car that has many admirers, especially those whose family memebrs once owned a similiar car.
- Brad with his lovely restored 1937 Plymouth. This car is a real 'head turner' and a very welcome addition to our club.
