2021-02 Off-the bitumen Ride based at Wollombi
Seven (7) club members participated in this ride. We stayed at the cabins, adjacent to Wollombi Tavern. On Monday we rode via The Convict Road to St Albans and Wiseman's Ferry (lunch), and return. Regrettably, the planned ride on Tuesday to the Putty Road via Big Yengo Trail was abandoned because of the wet weather. Our next 'off-the-bitumen' ride will be based at Nundle mid-week in the week beginning March 15th.- Wollombi Tavern was an excellent venue to relax over a pre-dinner drink and exaggerate one's achievements 'on the gravel'. Here Bob, John, Ian, Peter and Steve enjoy the hospitality.
- Ian with his very collectable BMW R75 at The Convict Road rest stop.
- Gordon kindly drives one of our support vehicles, his World War II Jeep.
- Steve loves to squeeze every ounce of performance out of his Yamaha 'on the gravel'.
- Lined up waiting for the ferry at Wiseman's Ferry are riders Ian (in the left hand side mirror), Peter, Ian, Norm, and Steve.
- Steve and John chatting on the front steps of The Cabins at Wollombi.
- Bob and Ian 'wet the whistle' before venturing to the tavern for dinner.
- Gordon and Peter feel that they have earned a 'cleansing ale' after hours 'on the gravel'.
- 'The wall of wisdom' with Peter, Steve, Norm and Ian sharing their thoughts on most matters.
- Peter and Ian pose with Ian Scanlon's Ural on the Wiseman's Ferry ferry.
- Steve and Norm prepare for a quick exit off the Wiseman's Ferry ferry.
- John appears to be casting a desiring eye over Ian's Ural.
- Bob, Hector (the dog), Peter and Norm 'chew the fat' at The Convict Road rest area.
