2019-10 Tour of New England Tenterfield and Environs
Tour of New England: Tenterfield and Environs. Our tour included two nights in the drought and bushfire ravaged town of Tenterfield. We visited the Railway Museum, the School of Arts (with its fabulous Henry Parkes and Breaker Morant exhibitions), The Tenterfield Saddler, Centenary Cottage and Wallangarra (with its historic change of gauge railway station). We 'passed around the hat' and raised an impressive $700 for the local drought and bushfire appeal.- Anne-Maree with a Jack Russell Terrier she was willing to adopt, at the Tenterfield Rail Museum. Note the reflection of her other adoptee, the Rover P6B, in the window.
- John relaxing at the Tenterfield Rail Museum reminiscing about the days when the express and mails trains used this station.
- Neil, Ann, Lindsay, Steve, Janelle, Margaret, Graeme, and Brett with a local resident, a well worn Valiant Charger, at Centenary House, Tenterfield.
- Ian and Anne-Maree with their Rover, on the Queensland side of the border at Wallangarra.
- Pauline, Steve, Barry and Sue enjoying themselves at Our Place Wine and Expresso Bar in Tenterfield.
- Anne-Maree with the joey she rescued from her dead mum's pouch on the Bruxner Highway near Tenterfield. Despite wanting to adopt the joey as well as the Jack Russell (see earlier photo), the vet in Inverell knew of an excellent local carer to take on those responsibilities.
